Abstract

In this study the characteristics and magnetic behavior of different litological units selected along the SE margin of the Ebro Basin, are presented. Thus, we have selected several sites along a stratigraphic section which covers the Eocene-Oligocene boundary for a study of the magnetic behavior. The limestones and sandstones magnetization is primary in origin and allow to characterize normal and revers polarities along the section. The anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility shows a sedimentary fabric in the sandston of the San Genis unit, resulting from a NW-SE paleocurrent.
