Abstract
Although the earliest known fossil of the genus Homo is slightly older than the beginning of the Quaternary, this period of history of the Earth is the one in which the evolution of our genus took place. During that time, no less than nine species of Homo originated and the geographic distribution of our genus expanded until it occupied almost the whole planet. The human deposits and fossils of the Iberian Peninsula are fundamental in order to learn about human evolution in Europe during the Quaternary
