Abstract

This repository contains supplementary datasets associated with the study “From noisy basins to steady ranges: transient sediment pulses perturb local detrital Be-10 signals but not regional denudation patterns”. It includes a multi-year time series of detrital cosmogenic Be-10 concentrations measured in fluvial sediments from 41 small, steep catchments in the Central Japanese Alps, Japan, sampled between 2012 and 2025. The repository contains measured Be-10 concentrations, derived catchment-averaged denudation rates, sampling metadata, and catchment attributes. It also includes rainfall event duration and intensity data for 1989–2025 derived from the Japan Meteorological Agency Radar/Raingauge-Analysed Precipitation dataset and the Suhara raingauge station, together with fully documented R workflow, input datasets, and model outputs for the Bayesian multilevel analysis of temporal variability in detrital Be-10.
